Katie Rose Guest Pryal, whose romantic suspense Fallout Girl (Hollywood Lights) is new this week, joins us to answer some rapid-fire questions…
Let’s get Down & Dirty …
Guilty pleasure? Taking the afternoon off from work to just read a romance novel on the couch before the kids get home from school — with a glass of afternoon wine. (I always leave a review of the book on Amazon and Goodreads, and that saves me from any guilt I might actually feel.).
Least favorite food? Tomatoes. I’m from the South (North Carolina), and tomatoes grow like weeds around here. You know that line from Steel Magnolias? When Ouiser says this about giving tomatoes to Clairee? “Somebody’s gotta take ’em. I hate ’em.” When asked why she grows tomatoes if she hates them, Ouiser answers: “Because I’m an old Southern woman and we’re supposed to wear funny-looking hats and ugly clothes and grow vegetables in the dirt.” It’s true — everyone grows tomatoes here. And they eat them off the vine like they’re apples or something. And I cannot STAND them.
I’m addicted to … tennis! I play all the time. After my family and my work, it’s the thing I do most. I play on lots of USTA teams, so it can get pretty intense, but in the end, tennis is what I do to stay in shape, to stay relaxed and to stay centered.
